Platform Academy needed a complete product experience for both students and instructors: a platform where users can seamlessly watch video courses, read documentation, and post new curriculums.

A platform that connects learners with creators covering design, UI, and video integration.
Platform Academy is an e-learning application where students watch professional courses and creators build curriculums. The product had to provide a distraction-free learning environment, make course discovery easy, and handle video streaming alongside rich text documentation and tasks.
Our scope covered the visual direction, UI/UX structure, and full-stack implementation, including the backend infrastructure for video streaming. The result is a polished, dark-themed academy that feels premium and robust from the database to the browser.
What We Built
The platform starts with a focused course catalog organized by category, where each course card exposes its relevant details, instructor, description, and title in a clean grid layout. The sidebar navigation keeps all essential tools just a click away without cluttering the screen.
The video watching experience is built around immersion. When a student enters a course, the UI steps back. The custom video player is integrated tightly with tabs for "About Course", "Videos", "Tasks", and "Documents", ensuring that learners have all their resources in one place without needing to navigate away from the lesson.
For creators, posting a new course had to be as intuitive as watching one. We designed a clear curriculum builder where instructors can organize their videos into modules, upload supplementary documents, and engage with their students through an integrated live chat feature.
Design Decisions
E-learning platforms often struggle with visual clutter. Platform Academy uses a deep navy dark mode that feels premium and reduces eye strain for students watching hours of video. We used bright orange accents sparingly to direct attention toward actionable elements like progress bars, active tabs, and primary buttons.
The course grid uses a bold, card-first layout with high-contrast thumbnails so the catalog is highly scannable. By keeping the sidebar collapsed to icons and the top navigation minimal, we maximized the screen real estate for the actual content: the videos and the curriculums.
